    Enx Energy and Chemicals Nigeria Limited, is a major distributor and supplier of Jotun Marine Paint and this version is supplied with the standard hardener for use at temperatures above 10°C. For use as a first coat direct on to steel surfaces where high standards of surface preparation have not been possible. For subsequent coats use coloured Jotamastic 87.

    Thinning by 10% with Jotun Thinners 17 is essential when using airless spray and is recommended when using a brush or roller. Jotamastic 87 can be used alone or in combination with single pack (not Pilot II) or two-pack topcoats. It may also be used as a primer over single pack paint systems prior to applying a two-pack topcoat. Jotamastic 87 gives excellent corrosion protection both in salt and fresh water.

    Laboratory Applications

    • In the laboratory, Ethylenediaminetetracetic Acid Disodium (EDTA Na2)-Pharma Grade is widely used for scavenging metal ions:
    • In biochemistry and molecular biology, ion depletion is commonly used to deactivate metal-dependent enzymes, either as an assay for their reactivity or to suppress damage to DNA, proteins, and polysaccharides. The Disodium salt of EDTA is the most commonly used form of this versatile organic complexing agent, which is used for the determination of many metal ions either by direct titration or by back-titration.
    • Hardness of water is determined by titrating with a standard solution of ethylene diamine tetra acetic acid (EDTA) which is a complexing agent. Since EDTA is insoluble in water, the disodium salt of EDTA is taken for this experiment.
    • Personal Care Applications: EDTA Na2 is used in Cosmetics to increase effectiveness and improve stability of bar and solid soaps, bath preparations; creams, oils, hair care products and many other personal care formulations.
